SEND
This command sends a mail message to another user on the PacketCluster. The message may be either a public or private message to whomever it is addressed. Mail may be sent to a list of stations, or to multiple stations via a distribution list which can be set up by the sysop. The default on our Cluster is for messages to be public ones, so if you wish yours to be private, it may be done with the SEND/PRIVATE command. Remember that private messages cannot be read by anyone other than the originator, addressee and the system operator, but it does NOT stop someone from monitoring the channel and reading it as you read it.
You may initiate the message either by the SEND command alone with the PacketCluster prompting you for all the required information, or by SEND callsign (e.g. SEND W4XXX) with the PacketCluster prompting you for the subject and the message text.
The subject may be a maximum of 30 characters in length. The message text should be sent with a carriage return at the end of each line on your screen, and terminated by a Ctrl-Z (holding down the Ctrl key and the Z key simultaneously) or a /EXIT on a separate line as the last line of your message. If you wish to cancel the message that you are sending, you may do so by sending a Ctrl-Y to the PacketCluster. Be aware that many TNCs use the Ctrl-Y key internally to cancel a packet about to be sent--and they do not send this keystroke out to the Cluster. This may be circumvented by establishing another key to be used by the TNC to cancel the packet. Another way is to preface your Ctrl-Y character with a Ctrl-V which is used by most TNCs to "passthrough" the next character sent out to the Cluster.

/COPY This command sends a copy of the specified mail message to another specified user. The resulting copy begins with a line stating that the message is a copy of another message, and it states the original sender and addressee.
Syntax Send/Copy message# addressee
/NOPRIVATE These commands serve as qualifiers to the SEND command, and specify whether a message is to be sent as private or public (no private) mail. The default is for messages to be public, so you would have to do a SEND/PRIVATE to make the message private. Private messages can only be read by the originator, the addressee, or the sysop. The mail message header is not displayed in the normal directory commands unless you have access to the message.
Syntax Send/Private
Send/Private callsign
Send/NOPrivate
/RR This qualifier requests a return receipt (RR) when the mail is read. Specifically, when the mail is read by the addressee, a mail message is automatically generated by the PacketCluster software back to the sender, informing him or her that the mail has been read.
